Story…

Looking back, art has quietly been my way of making sense of things. In quiet moments when words weren't enough, I'd reach for a pencil or brush. When life felt overwhelming, creating something with my hands helped me understand it all a bit better. Art became my way of processing emotions, holding onto treasured memories, and gradually discovering who I truly am beneath everything else. Through both successes and struggles, art has been my constant companion. It's been there during celebrations and tough times alike, offering a gentle invitation to create, explore, and heal. I'm truly grateful for how it's shaped my life, and that appreciation made me wonder if others might also find the same comfort and clarity I've discovered.

We all have those "one day" dreams, don’t we? One day I’ll visit that place I’ve always imagined. One day I’ll spend more time doing what really brings me joy. One day I’ll find the courage to live more authentically. The phrase "one day" has always spoken to me, especially through the music of O.A.R.—an artist who consistently reminds me to live as my most genuine, kind, and happy self. Their song "About an Hour Ago" from the live Rain or Shine album recorded in Chicago captured something I felt but couldn’t quite put into words. It made me start thinking about how art might gently show people that "one day" doesn’t have to wait.

When I was brainstorming ideas with my brother Mark in 2021, I was probably overthinking everything. Then he simply said, "What about putting a number one inside a sun?" Something about that felt just right.

One Day Art grew from the simple hope that my work might create a moment of connection for someone, maybe encouraging them to take a small step toward what makes them feel fulfilled. One Day Art is about the viewer, in hopes of making you feel a little more like yourself or inspiring you to embrace your own "one day" moment. Because the world needs more people living out their "one day" dreams.

Sincerely,

Craig
